Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Velniro apps for Mac and Windows, to Velniro Discover (the web app at velniro.net/app) and to this website, velniro.net (together, "Velniro"). By downloading or using Velniro, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't download or use Velniro.

1. What Velniro is

Velniro is an app for discovering, organizing and keeping track of movies, TV shows and anime. It shows information about titles from public metadata services, keeps your library, ratings and watch history on your own device, and the Mac and Windows apps can also play files and streams that you choose.

Velniro does not host, upload, store, sell or distribute any movies, shows, anime or other video content, and it does not come with any streaming sources. It has no catalog of its own.

2. Velniro Discover (the web app)

Velniro Discover shows information about movies, shows and anime and lets you keep a watchlist, favorites, ratings, playlists and the episodes you've seen, in one or more profiles. It has no video player, no streams, no add-ons and no links to video: it only shows information.

Titles, descriptions, posters, comments, reviews and other pictures in Velniro Discover come from Cinemeta, TMDB, AniList and Trakt and belong to their owners. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. They are shown to identify titles and may be incomplete or wrong. Links to other sites, such as official streaming services, JustWatch, IMDb, AniList and MyAnimeList, lead to third parties that Velniro doesn't control.

If you connect AniList or MyAnimeList, your use of them is governed by their terms, and Velniro Discover only sends the changes you make. Pictures you upload as posters or backgrounds stay in your browser; only upload pictures you have the right to use. A profile PIN only keeps other people using the same browser out of a profile; it is not account security.

Your Velniro Discover library is stored only in your browser. Clearing your browser's data for velniro.net deletes it, so export it if you want to keep a copy.

3. Velniro accounts

A Velniro account is optional. You can create one on velniro.net and use it to log in to Velniro Discover and the Mac and Windows apps. When you have an account:

• use your own email address, and keep it up to date so you can confirm changes and reset your password;
• keep your password to yourself and don't reuse one from another site; you're responsible for what happens while you're logged in;
• don't create accounts for other people without their permission, create accounts in bulk or with automated tools, or try to get into anyone else's account;
• tell us at support@velniro.net if you think someone else has used your account.

You can delete your account at any time on its account page. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or is used to harm the site or others, and we delete sign-ups whose email address is never confirmed. Accounts are provided free and as they are, under the sections below on warranty and liability; they aren't a backup of your library.

4. Add-ons and other services are third parties

Add-ons, torrent sources, debrid services and tracking or metadata services are independent third parties that you choose to install or connect. They decide what they offer. Velniro does not operate, review, control, monitor or endorse them or the content they link to, and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, legality or terms. Your use of a third-party service is between you and that service and is governed by its own terms.

5. Your responsibilities

• Only use sources, add-ons and content that you have the legal right to access in the country where you are.
• Respect copyright and other rights of creators, and the terms of every service you connect.
• Don't use Velniro to access, copy, share or distribute content without permission from the rights holder.
• Don't use Velniro to break the law, to harm others, or to interfere with any service or network.
• You are solely responsible for the add-ons you install, the content you access and how you use Velniro.

Before add-ons, stream sources, torrents or debrid services can be opened in the app, Velniro asks you to accept a notice that repeats these points.

6. Using the website

When you use velniro.net, including Velniro Discover, don't:

• attack, overload or disrupt the site, its servers or the services it uses, or try to get around its security;
• scan or test the site for weaknesses without our permission (report security problems to support@velniro.net instead; see our security contact);
• copy the site's data in bulk with automated tools, or use the site to send spam or malicious code;
• pretend to be Velniro or suggest that we endorse you.

We may block access from anyone who harms the site or other people using it. Velniro is meant for people aged 13 or older, or the minimum age to use online services where you live if that is higher.

7. License

The Velniro app is made available under its open-source license (MIT), which comes with the app and is listed on the open-source licenses page. Components made by others keep their own licenses. These terms don't take away any rights those licenses give you.

8. No warranty

Velniro is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don't promise that Velniro will be error-free, secure or always available, or that any third-party service will work with it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the people who make Velniro are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to Velniro, any add-on or third-party service, or any content you access with it. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Velniro, which is nothing.

Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits. In those places, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be waived.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover any claims, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your misuse of Velniro, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of anyone's rights.

11. Changes and ending

We may change Velniro or these terms. When the terms change, we update the date at the top of this page; continuing to use Velniro after that means you accept the new terms. You can stop using Velniro at any time by deleting the app, deleting your Velniro account, or clearing Velniro Discover's data in your browser.

12. Other

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part of these terms isn't a waiver of it. Questions about these terms: legal@velniro.net.
